Documentaries

As any institution concerned with research, the Institute is eager to share its observations and findings with others. As such it is our intention to produce documentaries in addition to journals and articles.

This is an especially good opportunity if you have some film or post-production experience.

Great Libraries of the World

This is a proposed documentary series and will showcase various treasures from the world's libraries and archives. It is presently in the planning stages for its first installment.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

The Free China Junk

In 1955 a crew of six men left Taiwan on a dangerous expedition across the Pacific. With no seamen among them, the odds of survival were grim, but they made it. Since then the ship has been passed through several owners, and now rests in Bethel Island, California. Among the questions this ship brings up is wether or not it was possible for Chinese traditional vessels to manage a trans-oceanic voyage across the Pacific.
